e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI)

Indira Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology has established an e-Yantra Robotics Laboratory in collaboration with IIT Bombay, sponsored by the Ministry of Education (MoE).
The e-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI) aims to integrate hands-on project-based learning into engineering education. By combining embedded systems, robotics, and open-source hardware and software, the lab empowers students to transition from theoretical knowledge to solving complex, real-world problems.

Objectives & Key Highlights

Hands-on Training: Provides students and faculty with practical experience on industry-standard embedded platforms, microcontrollers, sensor integration, and real-time robotic systems.
National Competitions: Mentors and prepares interdisciplinary student teams to participate in prestigious national events like the e-Yantra Robotics Competition (eYRC) and the e-Yantra Innovation Challenge (eYIC).
Multidisciplinary Projects: Encourages collaborative innovation across Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering to build smart automation and robotics solutions.
